techUK sponsors UK start-ups in the GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Pavilion, Eureka Park, CES 2019

The GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland Pavilion is organised by Tradefair on behalf of techUK, the trade association for the UK technology industry and in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT).  The participating UK companies will bring cutting-edge tech from the UK from artificial intelligence, vehicle tech, wearables, wireless devices, IoT to smart homes and smart cities.  See full details below*

“techUK is delighted to be supporting UK-based tech companies for a second year. It’s always been important that the UK’s tech companies have access to overseas markets, even more so today given the plans for the UK to leave the European Union.” said Paul Hide, Director of Membership and Marketing, techUK. “The businesses featured in the pavilion have been supported by the Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP), a DIT initiative which provides export support and enables companies to exhibit at events that would otherwise be out of reach,” concluded Hide.

After successfully bringing multiple products to market they realised that the technology required to make the perfect product didn't exist yet. So, they decided to make their own and ARROE was born to develop technology that allows people to harness and store energy on an individual level to charge personal devices, wearables and smart clothing.

doppel applies research in psychology and neuroscience to create technology that changes how we feel. Their first product is a wristband shown to reduce stress. It works by creating a silent vibration on the inside of your wrist which feels like the ‘lub-dub’ of a heartbeat. doppel's natural, psychological effect works in a similar way to music - slower rhythms are calming, and faster rhythms help you feel focused. Results showing its natural calming effect have been published in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Scientific Reports.

Latent Logic is a spin-out from the University of Oxford. We enable the safe, scalable, virtual testing of autonomous vehicles. Understanding the behaviour of other road users is the biggest challenge for a self-driving car, and can only be tested safely in simulation, not on real roads. We use state-of-the-art deep learning to build “virtual humans” for these simulated test environments. What’s unique about our technology is the realism of our virtual drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. We capture the subtleties and variety of human behaviour, like safe or aggressive driving, through applying Computer Vision and Imitation Learning to traffic videos.
