GREAT British innovation shines at Mobile World Congress Americas 2018

A group of eight leading British companies with a strong track record within the mobile tech sector will be exhibiting at this year’s event. UK companies will present ground-breaking innovation across several areas including drones, AI, cloud services, IOT, mobile advertising, LTE network infrastructure, 5G, devices and location technology.

Mark Birchall, Managing Director of Tradefair, the company that organises the UK presence at Mobile World Congress on behalf of techUK says; “Mobile World Congress Americas is where mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners come to meet.  Over recent years, the UK has asserted itself at the forefront of mobile innovation, with advancements in hardware, software, networking and content. We look forward to presenting the expertise of the UK companies and helping them to grow their business in North America.”

All companies exhibiting on the GREAT Britain Pavilion have received support from the Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP), a Department for International Trade (DIT) supported programme that enables smaller UK companies to attend events like Mobile World Congress America.

Unmanned Life will be presenting their unique Autonomy-as-a-Service software platform to the global audience of MWCA on the UK pavilion and in the GSMA run ‘Innovation City’. To top it all, we will be the only company doing a live demonstration using autonomous drones! From the headquarters in London, to the offices in San Francisco and Brussels, the team will be heading from all corners of the globe to represent the company across one of the most important tech conferences of the year.

Buyapowa generates tens of thousands of new subscriber accounts for their telecom customers each month, with operations in London, UK, Vancouver Canada, and with support personnel located around the world. Buyapowa’s technology integrates quickly and seamlessly with telecoms online digital platforms to ensure seamless experiences for subscribers who refer their friends to their favourite telecoms brand.

Communications Consultants Worldwide Ltd. (CCww), global innovator of 3GPP® technologies, has ported its Release-14 NB-IoT UE protocol-stack to a licensee’s SoC. The system is now being validated by 3GPP-based lab-testing, ahead of undertaking full GCF/ PTCRB approval later in the year.

CCww’s CEO, Richard Carter, said, “We‘re using our considerable experience and expertise gained through seven previous protocol-stack ports to minimise the effort needed for this phase of the project cycle, whilst optimizing both memory and MIPS requirements. We’ll be starting the upgrade to Cat-M1 early Q4/18, providing CCww with the opportunity to support cellular IoT chip-makers world-wide.”

The Giant iTab Company will be demonstrating its Giant Smartphone on its stand, it has been designed for companies presenting at events, exhibitions and conferences and has also created strong interest in the App developer market.

Mark Jones, Founder of Giant iTab, commented; “The Mobile World Congress events present a great opportunity for us to showcase our technology. Our recent attendance at MWC Barcelona in March was a great success and we signed up several new AV rental and reseller partners as a result of the show.

“The simplicity of our offering means that it will translate well as we prepare for the event in America. The technology market in America is booming and attending this event will also enable us to meet new local tech businesses for mutually beneficial partnerships.
